Purple-faced leaf langur conservation

Purple-faced leaf langur is an endemic and endangered primate species in Sri Lanka. There are four sub- species of leaf langur inhabiting in different areas of the island. The Foundation involves conserving the Southern population of them. Habitat loss due to deforestation, forest fragmentation and commercial agriculture, and unsustainable infrastructure development projects makes huge threats to these species. As a result, the human-wildlife conflict has been increased posing a threat to both humans and wildlife. Together with the communities, the Tendril Foundation involves protecting these species inhabit unprotected areas.
