IUFRO 2019 - Brazil
Two directors of the Tendril Foundation presented papers in the conference of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations in 2019 held in Curitiba, Brazil. One presentation was on ‘Challenges and potentials of ecotourism practices: A case study of Sinharaja rainforest in Sri Lanka’ and the other one was a poster presentation on ‘Accountability issues in centrally-led forest governance: Addressing climate and development challenges through enabling local communities in Sri Lanka’.
Conference on Environmental Governance 2020 - Singapore
This conference was held at the National University of Singapore in January 2020. The conference focused on the interplay among policy discourses, deliberative practices, public participation and environmental governance. Two directors of the Tendril Foundation presented a paper on ‘The impact of post-truth politics in forest governance in Sri Lanka: Promoting local knowledge in forest policy process’.
MMV10 2021 - Norway
A paper on ‘Challenges and potentials of sustainable ecotourism management and conservation: A case study of Kanneliya rainforest in Sri Lanka’ authored by two directors of the Tendril Foundation was presented online in the 10 th International Conference on Monitoring and Management of Visitors in Recreational and Protected Areas. The conference was held in Lillehammer, Norway in August 2021.
FPH 2021 - South Korea
A paper on ‘Re-greening degraded lands towards conserving species and improving public health: Establishment of “living islands” at the local level in Sri Lanka’ was presented online by two directors of the Tendril Foundation in the 2 nd International Conference on Forests for Public Health which organized by the Korea Forest Welfare Institute and Korea Forest Therapy Forum, Republic of Korea in October 2021. In the same conference a poster on ‘Public health versus forest governance: Controversial forest governance policy implementation in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka’ was also presented.
